Q&A

Common Questions

Is NotesBridge a plugin inside Apple Notes?

No. Apple Notes does not expose a public plugin API. NotesBridge runs as a separate macOS companion app that uses Accessibility APIs to provide inline editing tools.

Does it sync back into Apple Notes?

Currently, sync is one-way: Apple Notes to Markdown. This keeps your local vault as the "trusted archive" while allowing you to use Apple Notes as your primary capture tool.

Does it handle attachments and images?

Yes. NotesBridge exports native Apple Notes attachments, scans, and images into an attachments folder alongside your Markdown files, preserving their context.

Why use this instead of manual export?

Manual export is tedious and loses structure. NotesBridge automates the process, preserves folder hierarchies, handles internal links, and keeps your Markdown vault up-to-date as you write.
